Project objectives The overall aim of KLATHRON project is to make step-change contributions to clathrate hydrates for CCUS by tackling the present scientific and technological challenges. KLATHRON has the following main research objectives, each of which addresses a knowledge gap: Experimental phase equilibria needed to further expand the fundamental knowledge on clathrate hydrates and aiming to deliver reduced cost for CCUS processes. Optimization of experimental parameters related to thermodynamic aspects of mixed clathrate hydrates in presence of specific substrates. Development of an efficient modelling methodology to save computation time and to obtain more accurate predictions.
